An Evaluation of Rainfall Frequency and Intensity over the Australian Region in a Global Climate Model
Observed regional rainfall characteristics can be analyzed by examining both the frequency and intensity of different categories of rainfall. A complementary approach is to consider rainfall characteristics associated with regional synoptic regimes. These two approaches are combined here to examine daily rainfall characteristics over the Australian region, providing a target for model simulatio...
متن کاملUncertainty Investigation of Precipitation and Temperature Scenarios for the Sira Basin under Climate Change Impact
Results of assessment of the future climate change impacts is associated with some uncertainties. Considering the range of uncertainties increases reliability of the results. In this study, climate change impacts on daily precipitation, maximum and minimum temperature of Sira basin are assessed using LARS-WG model, for 2036-65 period. Accordingly, uncertainty of new emissions scenarios (RCP2.6،...
متن کاملOptimization of Proportions of Central Courtyard based on Comfort Standards in the Traditional Qajar Period Houses in Boushehr
The traditional architectural methods used in the historical cities of Iran provide useful information on various fields related to architecture and urban planning. Of particular interest are the techniques used for designing open and closed spaces in houses located in the hot and humid climate zone. The proportions observed for the courtyard in such houses have a great role in determining the ...
متن کاملUrban heat island features of southeast Australian towns
The purpose of this investigation was to examine the current urban heat island (UHI) effect in a number of southeast Australian towns and to provide discussion on its potential impact on the historical temperature record. High-quality long-term historical temperature data are fundamental in the examination of climate change. Observational datasets are essential for the monitoring of climate and...
متن کاملEvaluation of the regional climate response in Australia to large-scale climate modes in the historical NARCliM simulations
Regional Climate Modelling (RCM) projects are designed to: improve the regional representation of climate obtained from Global Climate Models (GCM) and to provide addedvalue (Giorgi and Mearns 1991) at the regional scale to the climate change signal. Global models are run at coarse spatial resolutions and they do not properly represent regional/ local features such as: topography, coastlines an...
